120 minutes art for families
Multiple dates
Art for the whole family (ages 7–99): whether parents or grandparents with children, relatives, friends or individual guests – everyone is welcome here. Spend two hours drawing inspiration from the art at the Museum Barberini and get creative yourself! After a short guided tour, during which you will discover selected originals and learn more about techniques, styles and motifs, you will create your own works of art in the subsequent workshop – with interactive guidance and to take home with you.

Painting like the Impressionists
In the garden, by the water, or in the city – the diverse motifs of the Impressionists inspire visitors to become creative themselves. The exhibition provides inspiration that can then be expressed in a variety of imaginative and painterly ways.
Sun, July 12, 1 - 3 pm, Atelier
Sun, September 20, 1 - 3 pm, Atelier
Painting like Signac
Vibrant colours, shimmering light and optical effects are the focus of this workshop. Through the paintings of Paul Signac and the Neo-Impressionists, you will explore how individual dots of colour come together to create vivid images. You will then experiment with colours and contrasts using this unique painting technique. Dot by dot, you will translate your impressions into your own paintings.
Sun, August 30, 1 - 3 pm, Atelier
Painting like Signac. Outdoor workshop
Out of the museum and into nature! At the Barberini Museum, you’ll discover Paul Signac and his art, and afterwards you’ll paint outdoors by the River Havel – inspired by his vibrant pointillist technique. Using bright colours, you’ll capture light, water and atmosphere, and develop your own perspective on nature and art.
Please note: As part of the workshop takes place outdoors, we recommend bringing a hat and a water bottle. In case of rain, we’ll work in the studio.
Sun, October 11, 1 - 3 pm, Atelier
Painting like Signac. Portrait workshop
Together, we’ll embark on a journey of discovery through the exhibition and look for the best artistic techniques for portrait painting. Inspired by the vibrant portraits of the Neo-Impressionists, which consist of countless individual dots of colour, you’ll explore this special technique for yourselves in the studio: dot by dot, your own portraits will take shape.
