Potsdam Festival of Lights
Sat, Jan 24, 2 p.m.
As part of the Potsdam Festival of Lights on the Alter Markt, the Museum Barberini will open the Barberini Studio for a free workshop on January 24:
Lantern crafting in the Barberini Studio on January 24, 2 – 4:30 p.m.
Lanterns, music, and encounters for young and old: The Potsdam Museum, together with the Potsdam Trombone Choir, St. Nikolaikirche Potsdam, the Museum Barberini, and the Garnisonkirche Potsdam, invites you to the Festival of Lights. To mark the occasion, a free lantern-making workshop will be held at the Barberini Studio. Craft materials will be provided, but participants should bring their own light source with a stick.
Following the lantern-making workshop, the lantern gathering will take place at 4.30 p.m. on the Alter Markt. In a wintery atmosphere with a fire pit, the Potsdam Trombone Choir will play music on the steps of St. Nicholas Church and invite everyone to sing along to lantern songs and evening songs.
It is recommended that you check the current weather conditions, dress warmly, and wear non-slip shoes. In case of bad weather, the lantern gathering will take place in St. Nikolaikirche.
The complete program and further information can be found on the Potsdam Museum website.
