Juri and the Unicorn
Multiple dates
Unicorns Don’t Exist! …Or Do They? Throughout history, from the Middle Ages to the present day, artists have been fascinated by the mythical unicorn. Depictions of this mysterious creature can even be found in Asia and the Americas. But has anyone ever actually seen one?
This is a case for Juri Tetzlaff, who embarks on a magical quest together with the Brandenburg State Orchestra Frankfurt to uncover the secrets of this legendary animal—and makes some surprising discoveries along the way.
Is the unicorn a forest dweller? Or does it roam the desert? What does it eat? And why have so many artists painted it if no one has ever seen one? In this interactive concert experience, Juri explores these questions and more. He's joined not only by the powerful sounds of the orchestra, but also by the young audience—because only together can they get closer to the truth behind the myth!
Juri Tetzlaff is a founding host of Germany’s children’s channel KiKA and a household name for a whole generation thanks to shows like Tigerenten Club, Trickboxx, Mitmach-Mühle, and the beloved bedtime show Baumhaus. In addition to his television work as a presenter, actor, and storyteller, he is an accomplished screenwriter and director. Since 2001, he has created and hosted classical concerts for young audiences, performing over 100 times a year across Germany. He has collaborated with major orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the German Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSB), and the WDR Funkhausorchester. His work has earned him prestigious awards, including the ECHO Klassik “Classical Music for Children prize.
