Venue Hire for External Events
As a place of cultural encounter in the historic center of Potsdam, Museum Barberini is a unique setting for exclusive evening events of all kinds. Guests are surrounded by art and the venue provides a stunning backdrop for special occasions.
Musée Privé
In times of limited possibilities for events due to the pandemic, Musée Privé offers the secure alternative for cultural events, be it for company or family celebrations or also as a special offer for your guests, members, employees and friends: with Musée Privé you enable your guests to enjoy an exclusive shared art experience, outside opening hours and safely organized in time slots.
Introductory lectures by experienced guides in the museum's auditorium complement the individual tour of the exhibition. The option of a get-together or catering in the foyer is not included in this offer. If a beverage service is desired for your participants, please direct your request for outdoor catering or a "closed party" directly to Café and Restaurant Barberini.
We will gladly provide you with information about Musée Privé and prepare an individual offer for you.

Private and Business Events
Booking an event at Museum Barberini gives your guests exclusive use of the museum facilities. They can visit the current exhibition and take their time looking at the exhibits. If you wish, you can round off the evening with a glass of wine or a “flying dinner” in the foyer or inner courtyard of the museum, where waiters serve the guests savory and sweet canapés as they stand chatting. This allows the guests to circulate while admiring the architecture of the reconstructed Palais Barberini and the views of the “Freundschaftsinsel” (Friendship Island), and the “Alte Fahrt” waterway.
Besides the art gallery and foyer, which can be booked to enjoy the works of art on an exclusive basis, it is also possible to book the auditorium, studio or restaurant space for an event.
Please note that external events can only be held in the museum spaces or inner courtyard outside normal opening hours, i.e. usually after 7 pm, or in exceptional cases on Tuesdays.
