Paul Signac was a key figure in French art around 1900. With his interest in Symbolist literature, music, and architecture, he focused on the synergies between the arts—reason enough for a musical reading in which Impressionist sounds are combined with texts by Proust, Flaubert, and Rilke, among others, as well as with the Neo-Impressionist paintings of Signac and his contemporaries. Jens Harzer will lend his distinctive voice to the event and, together with the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, explore the harmonies and rhythms of this era in music, literature, and painting.
