The Museum Barberini invites you to its Open House on Sunday, January 21, 2026. Enjoy free admission to the exhibition Unicorn: The Mythical Beast in Art and explore the masterpieces from the Hasso Plattner Collection. A varied program is also on offer:
10 a.m.–7 p.m.: Free admission to the Museum Barberini (last admission at 6 p.m.)
Insights:
12:30 p.m. & 3:30 p.m.: Introductory talk to the exhibition Unicorn. The Mythical Beast in Art (Auditorium)
Screening:
11 a.m.:Welcome to the ARTE premiere with Barberini director Ortrud Westheider, followed by a discussion with director Mathias Frick
11 a.m. & 2 p.m.: Screening of the ARTE film: “The Unicorn: Cultural History of a Desire” (A film by Mathias Frick, ARTE/ZDF 2025, 52 min.)
Get creative:
12–4 p.m.: Open studio for all (Atelier)
Culinary offerings from Café Barberini (subject to charge) round out the program.
