At our vacation workshops, you can experience art at the Museum Barberini and get creative yourself. With the help of experienced art and media experts, you will create your own work of art that you can take home with you. Do you enjoy drawing or painting, or would you like to try your hand at collages or bringing pictures to life? Then register online now. Places are limited. We look forward to seeing you!

Kids, 7–11 years:

Mon, March 30, 10 a.m., Atelier
Painting like Liebermann. Portrait workshop
In this workshop, we will explore the exhibition together in search of the best artistic tricks for portrait painting. Through the paintings, the children will discover in a playful way how expression, colour and brushstrokes can be used. In the studio, they will then create their own portraits using painting techniques inspired by Max Liebermann.

Your mini garden to take home
In cooperation with the Liebermann Villa on Lake Wannsee, Berlin
For Max Liebermann, his garden was a very special place – a source of peace, inspiration, and creativity. Together, we will explore Max Liebermann's world in the exhibition and discover how his garden influenced his art. In the workshop, we will then design our own 3D gardens to take home with us.

Who lives there? Art and nature in the Liebermann Garden
In cooperation with the Liebermann Villa on Lake Wannsee, Berlin
In the villa and garden on Lake Wannsee, we will immerse ourselves in Max Liebermann's very own garden paradise. We will discover the nature of the garden up close and learn who lives, grows and hides here. A workshop for anyone who loves art and nature. Please bring suitable clothing for working outdoors.

Teens, 12–17 years:

Wed, April 1, 10 a.m., Studio
Narrate your own story as a film – creative storytelling
Shoot your own reel – from the initial idea to the final cut! Inspired by your visit to the museum, use the iMovie app to develop a creative story with sound and images. You will learn the basics of digital storytelling and turn your idea into a mini-film, entirely in your own style.

Pastel outdoors – drawing in the Liebermann Garden
In cooperation with the Liebermann Villa on Lake Wannsee, Berlin
Out of the studio and into the garden! At the Liebermann Villa, you will learn about Max Liebermann and his art and draw outside in the garden – exactly where he himself worked. Using pastels, you will capture light, colours and mood and develop your own view of nature and art.

Digital Art – Your Garden with Procreate
In cooperation with Liebermann Villa on Lake Wannsee, Berlin
At the Museum Barberini, you will be inspired by the works in the exhibition and develop your drawings digitally. Whether it's Liebermann's garden or your favourite spot in nature – with Procreate, you can transform your sketch into a contemporary digital work of art and combine classical painting with modern technology.
