Holidays with Art

You can experience art and get creative in our vacation workshops at the Museum Barberini. With experienced art educators, you will design your own work of art that you can take home with you. Do you enjoy drawing or painting, or are you interested in collages or designing with two- and three-dimensional geometric shapes? Then register online right away. Places are limited. From picture to picture series.
Create your own mini-series in different lighting moods
Why were lighting effects so important to the Impressionists? How did they translate moods into their paintings? Together, we will discover the original works of the French Impressionists in the museum. We will explore how the artists used light and colour and how their series of paintings came about. Afterwards, we will learn the practical basics of Impressionist painting in the studio and design our own mini-series with different lighting effects.

Stories about clouds
Loosely arranged, grouped or dangerously clustered, as surprising animal shapes or in completely different forms – clouds never cease to surprise and inspire us. In the paintings of the French Impressionists from the collection and when looking at the sky, we will search for different cloud formations and the stories they tell. Using photography, cyanotype or drawing, we will then create our own little booklets full of cloud pictures and cloud stories.

Bring your picture to life!
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of animation with Procreate Dreams! Develop your own characters and backgrounds and turn them into moving scenes. With or without previous experience, you will develop your own animation step by step!
