In the winter of 2019–20 the Museum Barberini presented Jasper Johns’s 100 Monotypes. The pioneer of American Pop Art became known for his representations of flags and targets in the 1950s. The relationship between reality and representation is also the subject of his most recent work, which was created in conjunction with his catalogue raisonné (The Wildenstein Plattner Institute, 2017) and presented to the public for the first time in Potsdam. 

In conjunction with the exhibition, art historian Robert Bernstein, a specialist on Johns and author of his catalogue raisonné, spoke about the artist in English.
