Children and Teens
The Museum Barberini offers kids, teens, and families a variety of opportunities to experience the adventure of art and actively explore the exhibitions. Enthusiastic art educators guide visitors through the museum in an age-appropriate manner and tell exciting stories about the works, the artists, and their times.
Admission
Free admission for children and teens under 18 as well as school pupils. Please book a free online ticket in advance (tickets required for age 2 and above).
Art for Children
Every Saturday and Sunday, children ages 6 to 12 can discover the world of art. In a tour, they’ll experience the works in the Impressionism collection or the current exhibition and hear fascinating stories about them. Afterwards, they can enjoy creative activities in the Atelier while their parents linger in the exhibition.
Duration: 120 minutes
Cost: € 5 per child
Barberini Mini Workshops
A journey of discovery in the museum: every Sunday, children ages 3 to 5 accompanied by an adult (parent, grandparent, etc.) can discover selected works of art in a playful, child-friendly way, led by an experienced guide. Afterwards in the museum’s Atelier, children can create small works of art to take home with them, inspired by the originals in the exhibition.
Duration: 90 minutes

120 Minutes of Art for Families
Parents or grandparents with children, relatives, friends, or individual guests—all are welcome! Get creative and be inspired by the art in the Museum Barberini. First, you’ll experience selected originals and learn about techniques, styles, and motifs during a brief tour of the museum. Then, in a workshop with age-appropriate guidance, you can create your own works of art to take home with you.
Duration: 120 minutes
Cost: € 10 per child, € 15 per adult, plus admission
Digital Tours for Families
Experience a live, 360-degree virtual tour of the museum for the entire family. Guided through the current exhibition or the French Impressionist collection by an art historian, participants of all ages can ask questions or just listen. With this online tour, you can enjoy the works of art in a relaxed and private environment.

Birthday with Art
Children and youth ages 5 to 18 can celebrate their birthdays at the Museum Barberini! First, a tour will introduce the birthday child and his or her guests to the works of art. Then, they can create their own works in the Atelier—as a souvenir of a special day.

Cost: € 100 (maximum 16 guests, plus 2 accompanying adults at € 10 admission)
Audio Guides
The free Barberini App includes an audio guide especially for children to help them experience the museum in a new way. Fascinating stories, exciting ideas, and fun challenges make the museum visit interesting for young visitors. The app also includes adult-child tours so that families can progress through the exhibition together.
