Sterre Barentsen is a curator at the Museum Barberini. She previously worked at the museum as a research trainee in 2023/24. She studied art history at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and the University of Oxford, subsequently obtaining her PhD in the subject from Humboldt University in Berlin. In 2020, she was co-curator of the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. In 2025, she curated the Kosmos Kandinsky exhibition at the Museum Barberini. In November 2026, she will open the exhibition Impressionism: Artists, Dealers, Collectors, for which she is the co-curator. The following year, she will co-curate the Marie Laurencin exhibition. She is also preparing an exhibition on Odilon Redon, due to open in 2028.
